Many short pieces here will get longer treatments, but I've just finished the 2nd draft of one novel and am 60k into the 1st draft of a second manuscript. When I get clear of these two things, I will start with one of these for sure. :)
I have very much enjoyed what I've read so far. I've read Megalopolis, The Artifact, A Fairy Tale and, of course, The Acton. (Just finished chapter 30.) You have quite a lot of talent, an incredible depth of knowledge and a very engaging voice, I think.
What attracted me to this piece in the first place was the subtitle. Threnody is not exactly a commonplace word. It caught my eye because I just happen to have written a poem by that title a few years ago, if you'd care to read it.
I look forward to reading more from you. Having read a lot of Heinlein, I can definitely see the comparison someone made in a comment on one of your pieces. Your writing seems to flow right off the page.
Chapter thirty! Amazing!! I appreciate your interest so much. It's free to read, so it's only through generous people like you, who comment on, like or share, that I know The Acton is getting views. Thank you for your kind words, Steve. :)
I'd love to read more of this story. I want to read the part that comes before and the part that comes after, if there might be one. (I'm no stranger to estrangement.) You've said so much in these few words, but the words you haven't said are what fascinate me.
